The 2009 Tiffin Art Festival ..."A Masterpiece in the Making."
The 2nd Annual event was held Saturday, June 20, from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.

Gourds, anyone?

Sister Jane Omlor's ceramics booth was popular all day.

After the early sprinkles, and after the wind let up, it turned out to be a beautiful day.

The ribbon on the left tent post was one of the booth awards.

Our "KidZone" tent was busy all day! A BIG Thanks goes out to our kind and generous sponsors and wonderful TAG member volunteers who participated in The KidZone arts and crafts tent this year. Our main sponsor was the Tiffin Rotary Club. Other generous sponsors were the Tiffin, Clyde and Green Springs Public Libraries. Together the libraries donated over 400 gently used CD's and DVD's to use for our "Swind Catcher" craft. We would also like to thank the Seneca County School of Opportunity for letting us borrow the chairs we needed for the tent.

What a great day it was to have an art festival. We estimate 50-60 children visited the arts and craft tent this year. The KidZone tent was coordinated by TAG board member, Judi Henderson. She could not have made it through the day without assistance from TAG member and retired school teacher, Paula Crum. She was by her side all day assisting the children with their projects through adverse wind conditions. Other wonderful KidZone volunteers this year was TAG Secretary and school teacher, Tina Lorenz, and TAG Members Paula Spence, Mary Weis and Jeannette Pahls. Kelli Dariano assisted us with setting up the artists tents and the tables in the KidZone and Taste of Tiffin tents in the morning.

The KidZone projects this year included making "Swind Catchers" (Sun + Wind) out of colorful string and CD's. We made Pinwheels out of 8" squares of paper, pencils and push pins, and small stickers. There were numerous card stock, envelopes and embellishments for making greeting cards, with many children making a card for Father's Day. The most popular item was to "Make a Bug Barn" out of a kit that included a clean empty plastic coffee jar or can, some foam glitter stickers in the shape of bugs, a rubber band and a circle of netting, and or course some bug grass!
