Our general meeting for August was graciously hosted by Carol Hoffman, oil painter and art teacher, at her Clyde OH studio.

Carol's home and studio are filled with collected mementoes and "props." (Photos by Brenna Blymyer)

The range of Carol's work is huge and stunningly beautiful!

Every wall is filled with her work.

Carol's paintings range fromstill lifeto landscape.

Collected pitchers, bowls, vases, bottles and other objects are everywhere! You can also see them in her paintings.

Carol gave us a lesson in how she paints, beginning with underpainting values in acrylic in the traditional "grisaille" method...

and continuing on over the grisaille using transparent oil paints...

She completed this painting as we watched and listened in amazement! The Tiffin Art Guild wishes to thank Carol Hoffman for the wonderful tour of her studio and home, the hospitality, and the VERY interesting and informative lesson!
